SAEDNEWS: Iran’s parliament speaker has firmly responded to recent remarks by US CENTCOM Commander Brad Cooper, reiterating Tehran’s earlier position that no country in the region would sell oil if Iran is unable to do so.
According to Saednews, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Ghalibaf warned on Friday that if Iran is prevented from selling its oil in the region, no other country will be able to do so either.
Reposting his July 22 Persian-language statement on X, Ghalibaf said the central equation of the conflict is straightforward: either everyone is secure, or no one is.
He stressed that any threat to Iran’s national security would put regional infrastructure at risk, adding that lasting stability in the Strait of Hormuz depends on the withdrawal of US forces from the region.
Ghalibaf also repeated his earlier warning that the Strait of Hormuz will not return to the conditions that existed before the war.
