SAEDNEWS: IRGC spokesman Brigadier General Hossein Mohabbi rejected Donald Trump’s claim that the US is holding behind-the-scenes talks with Iranian officials, calling it a result of what he described as defeat and desperation.
According to SaedNews: Brigadier General Hossein Mohabbi, spokesman for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, rejected Donald Trump’s recent claim that the United States is communicating through a backchannel with IRGC officials over war-related issues.
Mohabbi said no talks are taking place between IRGC officials and Americans, describing Trump’s statement as a fantasy caused by what he called illusions and nightmares resulting from failure and desperation in the conflict.

He said the IRGC represents the power and voice of the Iranian nation and the Islamic Republic, adding that it expresses its position on the battlefield. According to him, diplomatic matters are handled by other parts of the Iranian government, and based on statements from Foreign Ministry officials, no talks with the US are currently taking place due to repeated broken commitments and past experiences.
Mohabbi added that Trump’s imagined scenarios would not help him on the ground. He claimed Trump was trying to temporarily influence global oil and energy prices through such statements, but said the only real option available to Washington was accepting defeat and implementing conditions set by Iran.
He added that the sooner the US accepts what he described as its failure and makes decisions accordingly, the more it can avoid greater losses.
