Spokesman Rejects Trump’s Assertion of Secret Backchannel Talks with the IRGC

According to Saednews, , IRGC Spokesperson Brigadier General Hossein Mohebbi said there are currently no talks between officials of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the United States.

Mohebbi rejected claims attributed to US President Donald Trump about negotiations with the IRGC, calling them fantasies stemming from what he described as Washington’s defeat and desperation following its aggression against Iran.

He said the IRGC represents the strength and position of the Iranian nation and the Islamic Republic, adding that the force demonstrates its stance through actions on the battlefield.

According to Mohebbi, diplomatic matters are handled by other institutions within the Islamic Republic. He said that, based on information available to the IRGC and statements from Iranian Foreign Ministry officials, there are currently no negotiations with Washington, including through diplomatic channels.

He attributed the absence of talks to what he called repeated US violations of agreements and broken promises.

Mohebbi also accused Trump of using his statements in an effort to temporarily influence global oil and energy prices.

“Trump’s mental fantasies will not help him on the field,” Mohebbi said, maintaining that the only viable option for the US president is to acknowledge defeat and accept the conditions presented by Iran.

He added that the sooner Washington recognizes its failure and acts accordingly, the more it can prevent further and potentially greater losses for the United States.
