According to Saednews political report, The New York Times allegedly claimed that U.S. President Donald Trump flew to Ankara aboard a jet gifted by Qatar that reportedly lacked advanced defensive systems, before returning to the United States on the older Air Force One aircraft.
The report states that the U.S. Secret Service decided to change the aircraft after receiving intelligence about an alleged plan to target the president's plane with a missile.
According to unnamed sources, after U.S. officials identified the reported threat, the Secret Service advised Trump to switch aircraft before departing the country.
Trump traveled to Ankara, Turkey, on July 7 for a two-day visit to attend the NATO leaders' summit. The visit marked the first trip by a U.S. president to Turkey in 17 years, with the previous presidential visit having been made by Barack Obama in 2009.
The report also says that Trump's visit took place amid significant public opposition in Turkey, with large protests and demonstrations organized by opposition groups against his arrival.
