Saed News: The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency announced that he will soon travel to the Gulf region.
According to SAEDNEWS, and reporting by the international desk of Tasnim News Agency, Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, wrote on his X account regarding his speech at the United Nations Security Council meeting: today I briefed the UN Security Council on the situation at the Barakah nuclear power plant in the United Arab Emirates following the drone attack on Sunday.
He added: while radiation levels remain normal and off-site power has been restored, the situation is very concerning. As I told the Council, attacks against nuclear facilities dedicated to peaceful purposes are unacceptable and carry undeniable risks for people and the environment.
Grossi continued: in recent days, I have been in contact with leaders across the Gulf region. We will continue to do everything within our mandate to help ensure nuclear safety and security and to support efforts for a diplomatic path forward.
The Director General of the agency stated: I will soon travel to the Gulf region to continue this important work.
