SAEDNEWS: The French Ministry of the Armed Forces announced that the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle is not currently present in the Strait of Hormuz, and that its movements are part of a naval mission in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.
According to the political desk of Saed News, as reported by Tabnak, France’s Ministry of the Armed Forces denied the presence of the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier in the Strait of Hormuz and confirmed that the vessel is currently engaged in an international mission to ensure maritime security in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.
The ministry stated that the aircraft carrier is not presently in the Strait of Hormuz, explaining that its movements are part of a broader naval mission in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden region.
According to Al Mayadeen, the ministry added that the carrier strike group continues to carry out operations aimed at safeguarding freedom of navigation in international waterways, within the framework of multinational cooperation in the region, without directly entering the Strait of Hormuz.
These clarifications were issued following media reports suggesting the vessel’s presence or movement near the strait—claims that the ministry indirectly rejected by outlining the current scope of its naval operations.
These developments come amid escalating regional tensions in the Red Sea and surrounding waters, where several international naval forces remain engaged in surveillance and protective missions for commercial shipping.
