According to SAEDNEWS, the release of a video featuring Hassan Etemadi, one of the close figures and former advisors of Reza Pahlavi, has shed new light on internal dynamics within the opposition abroad. In the first part of his remarks, Etemadi refers to one of the strangest political phenomena of the 2000s in Iran, a figure known as “Hekha” (Ahoura Pirouz Khalghi Yazdi).

Hekha, who by launching a television network and announcing a ridiculous countdown claimed he would return to Iran by plane on a specific day and overthrow the government, had at the time become a subject of political satire and public mockery. However, Etemadi reveals that during that period, while he was in Washington, he was directly asked by Reza Pahlavi to meet Hekha and persuade him to support Reza Pahlavi—a request he rejected due to what he described as Hekha’s “lack of sufficient reasoning and intelligence.”

Admission of Mistake and Lack of Political Competence

The former advisor to Reza Pahlavi further reflects critically on his past involvement, describing his biggest mistake as trusting and believing that it was possible to find a path for saving Iran through Reza Pahlavi. Referring to historical knowledge of the Pahlavi family, he says: “He was not made for this job. Even his father, Mohammad Reza Shah, said about his son that he is not suited for such tasks and lacks responsibility.”

Etemadi believes that Reza Pahlavi’s behavior and lack of political competence have led even international actors not to take him seriously. He explicitly notes that for this reason, figures such as Donald Trump and European countries have not been willing to make even minimal political investment in Reza Pahlavi.

Becoming an “Israeli Project” for the Destruction of Iran

The peak of Etemadi’s statements is his strong claim regarding Reza Pahlavi’s current position. He alleges that Reza Pahlavi is no longer an independent political actor, but rather a “project” owned by Israel.

According to Etemadi, Israel, by spending large amounts of money and establishing television networks for Reza Pahlavi, is using him as a tool to advance its own goals. He warns that the ultimate aim of this project is to attack Iran, completely destroy the country, eliminate its infrastructure, and continue war until Iran is fully removed from power equations. These remarks reflect a deep rift and erosion among former supporters and associates of opposition figures.
