U.S. Sends New Draft in Response to Iran’s Proposal

According to the politics service of Saed News Agency, Axios reported—citing its sources—that the United States sent a revised draft on Sunday for an agreement aimed at ending the war. This move came in response to the latest proposal previously submitted by Iran.

The report, citing Tasnim News Agency, noted that the publication did not provide any details regarding the content of the U.S. proposal or the adjustments made to it.

Earlier, former U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he would soon review a plan recently sent by Iran.

Reuters quoted Trump as saying that he had been briefed on the general outlines and concepts of a potential agreement with Iran, and that the full and final text would soon be presented to him.

According to Tasnim News Agency, Iran has submitted a response—through a Pakistani intermediary—to a nine-point U.S. proposal, focusing on the issue of “ending the war.”

The Iranian proposal reportedly includes several key demands, such as guarantees of non-aggression, the withdrawal of U.S. military forces from Iran’s surrounding region, lifting of naval blockades, release of frozen Iranian assets, payment of compensation, lifting of sanctions, and an end to hostilities across all fronts, including Lebanon. It also reportedly includes a new framework for the Strait of Hormuz, among other points.
