SAEDNEWS: Khatibzadeh said that the United States continues to insist on demands that Tehran considers “excessive.”
According to the political desk of Saed News, Tasnim reported that Saeed Khatibzadeh, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister, stated that no enriched materials will be sent to the United States, emphasizing that such an issue is fundamentally not open for discussion.
In an interview with the Associated Press, he also noted that numerous messages have been exchanged between Iran and the United States. However, he said the American side continues to insist on demands that Tehran considers “excessive.”
Referring to the course of negotiations, Khatibzadeh added that the parties have not yet reached the stage of holding a genuine meeting, as the United States has not retreated from its maximalist positions on certain issues.
Elsewhere in his remarks, addressing the possibility of Iran’s response to Israeli attacks against Lebanon, he stressed that Iran has no option but to confront aggressors decisively and once and for all.
The Deputy Foreign Minister also emphasized that Tehran has agreed to a ceasefire and has informed all parties that it must include all countries, including Lebanon.
He continued that within the framework of negotiations, new guidelines will be developed for the Strait of Hormuz, ensuring that this vital passage remains open and secure for all civilian transit.
Khatibzadeh concluded by stating that other parties must understand Iran’s core concerns and take steps to address them, particularly issues related to unilateral and unlawful sanctions.
