SAEDNEWS: Channel 11 Israel Reports Hezbollah Deploys Drone With Low-Detection Optical System Against Israeli Forces for First Time
According to the political news service of Saednews, Turkey’s Anadolu Agency, citing Israel’s Channel 11 TV network, reported that Hezbollah in Lebanon launched at least 40 drones toward the north of occupied Palestine on Monday. Only a small number of these drones were intercepted, while the rest reportedly caused extensive damage.
The Israeli media outlet emphasized that one of the drones, which crashed in the settlement of “Kiryat Shmona,” was reportedly used for the first time.
Channel 11 added that the drone is of an advanced type, equipped with a visual system. It is very difficult to intercept and stop and is also resistant to electronic warfare.
The same Israeli source stated that the drone is capable of maneuvering inside buildings, can carry up to five kilograms of explosives, and has a range of tens of kilometers.
Additional technical details were reported by other Israeli media outlets. The “Globes” news site stated that Hezbollah has recently begun using FPV suicide drones to target tanks and armored personnel carriers of the Israeli army in southern Lebanon.
According to Globes, images published by Hezbollah show that these drones are highly maneuverable at high speed and are capable of striking armored vehicles and even soldiers.
The report added that, unlike reconnaissance drones, operating these attack drones requires a high level of skill. The operator uses special goggles or a headset to see exactly what the drone’s camera captures.
Globes further noted that these drones are controlled from fortified shelters far from front-line areas, using controllers similar to video game joysticks.
The Israeli news outlet also revealed that in recent days, this weapon has undergone new modifications inspired by the battlefield in Ukraine, with suicide drones being connected via fiber-optic cables for guidance. This method makes the drones fully resistant to attempts to down them through GPS or radio signal jamming.
Israeli media reports come as Hezbollah continues its operations in response to Israeli actions that began on March 2 (corresponding to 12 Esfand 1404). Since then, the Israeli army has confirmed the deaths of 12 of its soldiers and injuries to dozens more in southern Lebanon.
Israel is occupying areas in southern Lebanon, some of which have been under occupation for decades, while others have remained occupied since the previous conflict (October 2023 to November 2024).
