He expressed satisfaction with the negotiations, noting that technical teams would convene in Vienna in the coming days.

"More progress has been achieved in our diplomatic engagement with the United States" Araqchi said in a post on X.

"This round of negotiations was the most intensive stage so far. These discussions concluded with this mutual understanding that regarding fundamental issues for any agreement, including the lifting of sanctions and steps related to the nuclear field, we will continue consultations in a more detailed and precise manner," he continued.

The Iranian Foreign Minister also stated that alongside the political path, technical teams would gather in Vienna in the days ahead, emphasizing that "their mission is as vital and important as ours."

In closing, Araqchi expressed gratitude to Oman and Switzerland, adding, "We appreciate Oman for its continuous and effective mediation and express our thanks to Switzerland for hosting another round of negotiations."

The third round of indirect nuclear negotiations between Iran and the United States, mediated by Oman, took place in two sessions in Geneva on Thursday.

Araqchi, Iran's Foreign Minister, and Steve Witkoff, special representative of US President Donald Trump, led this round of talks as in previous sessions, with Oman's Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi serving as the mediator.

Following the conclusion of the third round on Thursday evening, Araqchi commented on the issues discussed, stating, "It was one of the most serious periods of our negotiations. Discussions were exchanged indirectly between the two sides. In these several long hours, we made good progress and seriously entered the elements of an agreement."

“We got closer on some issues. Naturally, we have differences of opinion but there was more seriousness on both sides than before. It was agreed that technical teams start technical work in Vienna on Monday to reach a framework and template,” Araqchi asserted.

Shifting to the US perspective, a senior American official told Axios that the nuclear talks with Iran had been "positive", though he refrained from providing further details.
