SAEDNEWS: The Cabinet issued an official statement inviting the public to attend memorial ceremonies marking the fortieth day since the victims of the January 1404 incidents passed away. The government called on citizens to participate in the events scheduled for 28 Bahman, which will be held in provincial capitals across the country.
Dear people of Iran, fathers, mothers, youth, and children:
“We are all in mourning,” and every Iranian life is precious to us, with its loss deeply painful.
The events that occurred last January, during which the civil protests of some citizens escalated into riots and violent unrest, are profoundly tragic for all who serve you. In these incidents, the martyrdom and loss of more than three thousand sons and daughters of Iran have inflicted an irreparable wound on our society.
The Government and the esteemed President, while once again offering their condolences to all compatriots—especially to the bereaved families—invite all segments of the resilient Iranian nation to attend the 40th-day memorial ceremonies for the departed. These ceremonies will be held on Tuesday, 28 Bahman (February 16) at 14:30 at the Imam Khomeini Prayer Hall in Tehran, and at 18:00 at the Holy Shrine of Imam Reza in Mashhad, as well as in other provincial centers. Your presence will serve as a comfort to the grieving hearts of loved ones.
It is understood that bereaved families will also hold their own gatherings and ceremonies according to their discretion and traditions.
