Pezeshkian: People Must Be Heard Before They Take to Streets in Protest

According to SAEDNEWS, Speaking at a meeting with the economy minister and his deputies on Tuesday, Pezeshkian argued that if the demands of various strata of society were heard, “we wouldn’t be witnessing their protests on the streets.”

“Before we hear the voice of merchants, bazaaris, and different strata of society on the streets, we must be following up on their demands and concerns so as to find solutions for them,” he said.

The president also underlined the importance of clearly explaining to people what measures and economic plans are being implemented and what outcomes are expected.

According to Pezeshkian, economic and development plans need to be decentralized from the capital, Tehran, to other cities, especially the southern port cities, to reach a more balanced development in the country.
