SAEDNEWS: The Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian held a meeting with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron in New York on Wednesday, with the French side writing in a post that he had told the Iranian side a deal was still possible.
On Wednesday, Iran’s President Pezeshkian met with French President Emmanuel Macron on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
This marked Pezeshkian’s first bilateral meeting with any foreign leader during his visit to New York. According to local Iranian media, discussions focused primarily on continued cooperation between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), as well as the snapback mechanism.
Following the meeting, President Macron posted on X that he had conveyed European concerns regarding Iran’s strained relations with the IAEA and reiterated the Europeans’ demands.
“An agreement remains possible. Only a few hours are left. It is up to Iran to respond to the legitimate conditions we have set,” Macron wrote.
The meeting highlights ongoing diplomatic efforts and underscores the high-stakes negotiations surrounding Iran’s nuclear program and international obligations.
