SAEDNEWS: During a Spring Festival in India, Women Are Allowed to Hit Their Husbands
According to Saed News, cited by Fararu, India is a country rich in diverse cultures and vibrant, energetic festivals. One of these unique events is the “Husband Beating” festival, held annually in certain villages.
Known as Latmar Holi (the festival of colors and love), this is an ancient tradition in India. During the festival, villagers gather at a temple where women throw colorful powders on their husbands while reciting local poems and dancing.
The next day, the roles are reversed: men sprinkle colored powders on their wives. Following this playful exchange, women lightly strike their husbands with sticks, letting out any frustration and anger in a ritualistic, symbolic way.
