SAEDNEWS: A man killed eight people, including a pregnant woman, children, and other relatives, at his home in Erie, Pennsylvania, before taking his own life, authorities said Saturday.
According to Saednews, Erie Police Chief Rick Lorah said the 45-year-old man was related to seven of the victims in the previous day’s shooting, while the eighth victim was a friend of the pregnant woman.
Investigators recovered video and audio evidence, including muffled gunshots coming from inside the home shortly before two “distressed” women arrived and began pounding on the door just before 5 p.m. on Friday, he said.
According to the Associated Press, the gunman then came outside and shot the women as they ran toward him before returning inside.
Police arrived and found the two women dead outside the home. After deploying a drone and a robot, officers entered the residence and discovered the bodies of a 5-year-old boy and a 1-year-old girl on the first floor, two additional women and two young men in a stairwell, and the shooter on the second floor.
