The New York Times: Trump Has Reached an Impasse

According to SAEDNEWS, The New York Times reported that Donald Trump, the President of the United States, has entered a stage where his early promises of quickly resolving international crises are confronting complex political and military realities.

The outlet wrote that in Ukraine, Gaza, and now Iran, Trump’s initial declarations of easy victories have given way to harsh realities.

The New York Times added that regarding Iran, after announcing a ceasefire, Trump described the full and secure reopening of the Strait of Hormuz as a condition for ending hostilities, but this goal has not been fully achieved. It also noted that the future of Iran’s nuclear and missile programs still depends on negotiations that are likely to last at least 60 days. Analysts believe Tehran, aware of Trump’s limited willingness to resume war, will try to prolong the negotiations.

The American newspaper also wrote that in the Ukraine case, Trump—who had promised to end the war within 24 hours—has achieved no success even after 16 months in office. Russia, it said, prefers a long-term diplomatic process rather than short-term talks.

The New York Times added that in Gaza as well, Trump’s ambitious plans for disarming Hamas and extensively rebuilding the region have seen no progress. The U.S. President is now facing the reality that resolving complex global conflicts is far more difficult than he initially believed.
