Saed News: Rambo is set to make a big and truly surprising return to the big screen, even without Sylvester Stallone.

New Details About The New Rambo Movie Released

According to SAEDNEWS, the long-running Rambo franchise has never featured a lead actor other than Stallone, but this will change with the upcoming prequel John Rambo. In this film, Noah Centineo will play a younger version of the iconic character first introduced in 1982’s First Blood. Although Stallone will not appear on screen this time, he will still be involved in the sixth film of the franchise as an executive producer.

Lionsgate has not yet announced an exact release date for the new Rambo film, but Helen Lee-Kim, the company’s head of international, said about the prequel:

“The filming has been completed. You are going to see a big and truly amazing film.”

Filming of the sixth Rambo movie began in Bangkok in January and reportedly wrapped in March. Lee-Kim’s positive comments reflect those of Lionsgate president Adam Fogelson, who said in an April 2026 interview with Business Insider:

“This is the best version of what I thought it could be.”

At the same time, Fogelson reassured fans concerned about how John Rambo would be portrayed in the new film, saying:

“The character you will ultimately meet in the later films is both fully respectful of what has already been created and at the same time completely original.”

The new Rambo film entered production while Stallone was also promoting his own prequel project, which was set to use artificial intelligence to bring a younger Rambo to life, but was ultimately canceled.

In a September 2025 interview with ScreenRant, Stallone revealed: “It took too long, and they took the project, and I hope they succeed.” He also explained his vision of Rambo’s transformation into a killing machine:

“When he goes to Vietnam, he thinks it will be a three-week mission, but he is tortured and captured, his friends are killed one after another. And that’s how I became who I am.”

Director Jalmari Helander shared his personal reasons for making the Rambo prequel in a statement released in August 2025:

“I have been the biggest Rambo fan since I was eleven years old. Being in a position where I can make my own Rambo film feels surreal. The chain of events that led me here has, in an extraordinary way, given meaning to my entire childhood. I can’t wait to bring the greatest action hero back to the big screen where he belongs.”
