SAEDNEWS: In a Village, Girls Suddenly Become Boys During Puberty
According to Saed News, citing Rokna, an unusual phenomenon has been reported in a village in the Dominican Republic where some children assigned female at birth reportedly develop male physical characteristics during puberty without medical intervention.
This rare hereditary condition, known as Guevedoces, is associated with a deficiency in the production of dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a key male hormone. As a result, some infants are born with female-appearing external genitalia despite having a typically male genetic makeup.
At puberty, when testosterone levels increase, individuals affected by this condition may experience significant physical changes, including voice deepening and the development of male secondary sexual characteristics. These changes occur later than they normally would during fetal development.
One woman from the village stated in a television interview that she was born and raised as a girl and attended school as one, but from a young age preferred playing with boys and did not identify with typical girls’ games or clothing.
There is currently no definitive cure for this condition, although it has attracted significant public attention and discussion on social media following recent reports.
