According to SAEDNEWS, citing Hamshahri Online, as comet C/2025 R3 PanSTARRS exits the inner solar system, it presents a beautiful long-exposure display for cameras. In this image, the PanSTARRS comet appears like a lightsaber.

According to NASA, the distant “Orion Nebula,” currently visible in the constellation Orion, can be seen in the upper right of the image. The PanSTARRS comet is now displaying two distinct tails: a short dust tail extending upward in the image, and a long, wavy ion tail stretching toward the upper left.

The ion tail is directed away from the Sun and glows blue due to the presence of carbon monoxide. Larger dust particles partially resist solar radiation pressure that pushes them away from the Sun, allowing them to somewhat follow the comet’s orbit. The dust tail shines by reflecting sunlight.
