Saed News: American actor Mark Hamill, best known for playing “Luke Skywalker” in the Star Wars franchise, has sparked a wave of reactions in the United States after sharing a controversial image about Donald Trump.
According to SAEDNEWS, the incident began when he posted an AI-generated image on his social media account showing Trump in a grave, with only one word written beneath it: “wish.” The post quickly spread across social media and drew strong reactions from users, politicians, and even the White House.
According to media reports, the image was published shortly after an assassination attempt incident during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, which led many users to describe the post as provocative and irresponsible. Critics said such content in the tense U.S. political climate could be dangerous and fuel violence.
Following the backlash, White House spokesperson David Ingle issued a sharp statement criticizing Mark Hamill. He said: “Just days ago Barack Obama appeared in a video alongside this individual, and now that same person is wishing death upon President Trump.” The White House also called on Democratic Party figures to condemn the action.
Public pressure led Mark Hamill to delete the original post and publish a clarification. In his new message, he said he did not intend to wish Trump dead, but rather meant that the U.S. president should be held accountable for his accusations and legal cases. Hamill wrote: “He should live long enough to answer for his crimes.”
The actor further made harsh remarks against Trump, saying he should face political defeat in the midterm elections, stand trial, and be held accountable for what he called “unprecedented corruption.” Hamill also wrote that Trump should live long enough to see his name recorded in history books with disgrace.
Mark Hamill has previously criticized Trump’s policies on multiple occasions. In interviews and podcasts, he has said he feels ashamed of Trump being re-elected as U.S. president. These political positions have made him one of Hollywood’s most prominent anti-Trump figures.
