Saad News: A man accused of kidnapping and torturing his coworker claimed that the victim owed him money.
According to SAEDNEWS, citing Hamshahri, a few days ago the disappearance of a young man was reported to the police by his brother. He said: “An unknown person called me and said he had kidnapped my brother and demanded cryptocurrency equivalent to 5 billion tomans for his release.”
Following the report and by order of Investigator Sohrabi, efforts to locate the young man began. During the investigation, detectives managed to trace the hostage and the kidnappers to a house in southern Tehran and freed the victim, whose hands and feet were tied. When officers attempted to rescue the hostage, the kidnapper resisted, forcing the police to open fire.
The abducted man said: “On the day of the incident, I was on my way to work when a car stopped in front of me. Two people got out, threatened me, forced me into the vehicle, and took me to their hideout. There, they beat me, and I recognized one of the kidnappers. He was one of my coworkers with whom I previously had financial dealings. He claimed I owed him 5 billion tomans, while I had taken no money from him and had no debt.”
Despite the victim’s claims, the suspect stated: “This person owed me 5 billion tomans but refused to pay, so I, along with my friend, took him to our hideout to recover the money.”
By order of the Ninth Branch investigator of the Criminal Prosecutor’s Office in the capital, investigations are ongoing.
