Iranian Source Denies Reports of Recent Contact With the United States

According to SAEDNEWS, Speaking to Tasnim News Agency, the official dismissed a report published by the U.S. outlet Axios that suggested recent communication between Tehran and Washington.

“The claim that Iran has reached out to the United States in recent days is entirely untrue,” the source said, adding that Axios has previously been known for publishing inaccurate reports regarding Iran–U.S. relations.

According to the official, increasing military and economic pressure on former U.S. President Donald Trump has led to what he described as political messaging aimed at suggesting negotiations in order to influence global energy markets.

The source argued that despite such signals, military operations and destructive actions attributed to the United States against Iranian citizens have not decreased and are continuing to escalate.

The official also stated that Iran has no trust in Trump’s promises, claiming that he had previously disrupted ongoing negotiations on at least two occasions and later launched attacks against Iran.

“No agreement will be acceptable unless it secures the long‑term national security interests of Iran and its regional partners,” the source said, adding that the broader regional situation will not return to the conditions that existed before the war.
