SAEDNEWS: The Organization of Religious Boards and Associations of Iran has called for public vigilance and continued community presence ahead of the upcoming Chaharshanbe Suri celebrations, the traditional festival held on the eve of the last Wednesday of the Persian year.
According to SAEDNEWS, In a statement, the organization emphasized the importance of sustained public participation in social and cultural activities while maintaining awareness of potential security concerns.
The statement encouraged local religious groups, community organizations, and cultural activists to organize shorter and more diverse public programs to maintain public engagement. Officials suggested that each program segment last no longer than ten minutes, followed by community activities such as organized car or motorcycle convoys through neighborhoods, provided they do not disturb residents.
The organization also proposed the establishment of service booths and “children’s stations” during events to encourage greater participation from families.
In addition, the statement recommended incorporating spiritual elements into gatherings. Suggested practices include beginning programs with the recitation of the Dua Tawassul, reading verses from Surah Al‑Fath at the start of events, and concluding with the 14th supplication of Sahifa Sajjadiya.
The statement also called on citizens to support local businesses as the Persian New Year approaches. Organizers encouraged people to conduct their Nowruz shopping at neighborhood markets and stores, saying that keeping shops open helps sustain economic activity and promotes a sense of normalcy in community life.
Regarding Chaharshanbe Suri itself, the organization urged people to avoid using firecrackers or explosive noise‑making devices in neighborhoods, warning that hostile groups may attempt to exploit the celebrations to create insecurity.
Instead, it suggested holding symbolic gatherings featuring what it described as “burning the symbols of global arrogance and hostile media” during community events.
Finally, the organization stressed the importance of security precautions, particularly in response to calls by opposition groups during the final days of the year. It recommended security checks at entrances to indoor gatherings and greater coordination with security and law enforcement authorities for street events.
The statement concluded by reaffirming the organization’s commitment to following the guidance of Iran’s leadership and encouraging supporters to remain vigilant and engaged in community activities.
