Goboli (or Gaboli) Meat is one of the most famous local dishes of Bandar Abbas, highly renowned among the people of this port city and Hormozgan Province.
A variety of spices are used in this dish, making it highly flavorful, aromatic, and rich in nutritional properties. Goboli is prepared with either red meat or chicken and is considered a hearty, complete meal for lunch.

The main ingredients of Goboli Meat include cooked and sautéed meat, fried onions, fried potatoes, cooked chickpeas, rice cooked in meat broth, and a variety of spices such as cloves, dried lime (limoo amani), cardamom, special southern spices, and cooked chili peppers.


Ingredients for Southern Chicken Goboli:

🍗 Four chicken drumsticks or thighs
🧅 One onion

Spices for the chicken:
🍃 Two bay leaves
🌿 A piece of cinnamon stick
🧂 ½ teaspoon turmeric
🌶️ ½ teaspoon black pepper
🌰 Two cardamom pods
🧂 1 teaspoon salt
🌿 ½ teaspoon cumin

🍚 3 cups of rice
🧂 Salt, turmeric powder, curry powder, and cumin — ½ teaspoon of each
🥔 One potato (for frying)
