SAEDNEWS: The Thai Navy has launched an operation in the Trat Province to push Cambodian troops out of the area.
The Thai Navy has initiated a military operation in Trat Province to expel Cambodian forces from the area, according to The Nation.
Thai intelligence reported a buildup of Cambodian troops and equipment on Thai soil along the border. "Despite Thailand's restraint and ongoing efforts to establish dialogue, Cambodian forces have not withdrawn from Thai territory," said Navy spokesman Parat Rattanachaiphan. "On the contrary, they have reinforced their units with special forces, snipers, and multiple rocket launchers, and have upgraded their positions and tactical facilities in ways that clearly threaten Thailand's sovereignty."
Rattanachaiphan added that Cambodian troops have dug defensive trenches, deployed heavy weapons, and used UAVs to continuously monitor Thai positions and military installations. "To safeguard the country's sovereignty and security, the Royal Thai Navy and relevant security agencies had no choice but to conduct operations to push Cambodian forces out of Thailand’s sovereign territory," he said.
