Pezeshkian’s First Vice President Responds to Trump’s 48‑Hour Threat: “We Will Plunge Them Into Darkness”

According to SAEDNEWS, the message from Mohammad Reza Aref, First Vice President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, reads as follows:

“Last night, the same individual who until yesterday spoke of ‘friendship with the people of Iran’ openly threatened—continuing his crimes against the Iranian nation and country—to target Iran’s power plants. This threat revealed that the true targets of these policies are, in fact, the Iranian people themselves.

Attacking a nation’s vital infrastructure means a direct threat against civilians and a clear violation of humanitarian principles and international law. An attack on Iran’s infrastructure will lead to widespread blackouts across the region. The right to legitimate self‑defense is reserved, and the continuation of this path will place responsibility for the consequences on those issuing these threats.

The Islamic Republic of Iran did not initiate this war, but it will not hesitate to defend its people and its land. We will determine when and how this war ends.

In Iran there is one principle: when Iran itself is at stake, one nation—despite all differences—stands united. Iran, together with its people, stands firm.”
