SAEDNEWS: Turkey is Making Intense Diplomatic Efforts to Dissuade Gulf Arab States from Joining a US-Israel War Against Iran

Turkey’s Effort to Prevent an Arab-Israeli Coalition Against Iran

According to Saed News’ political desk, citing Khabar Online, Ankara has called on Gulf countries to exercise restraint amid escalating tensions in the Middle East. As part of these ongoing diplomatic efforts, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan recently visited Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar, engaging in discussions with regional counterparts.

ISNA, citing Bloomberg, reports that Turkey’s initiative comes as Gulf countries such as Saudi Arabia and the UAE grow increasingly frustrated with Iran’s retaliatory attacks.

Following a cabinet meeting on Tuesday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan warned that the conflict should not escalate into a broader, protracted regional war. He stated, “We do not want this war to turn into a protracted conflict among regional countries. Retaliatory actions carry such risks.”

Turkey’s efforts to dissuade Gulf states from joining the United States and Israel against Iran occur amid warnings from Arab leaders about the consequences of striking Iran’s energy infrastructure. Informed officials say Arab countries have cautioned Washington that targeting Iran’s power plants could provoke retaliatory actions, endanger energy and water facilities, and threaten the global economy.

Earlier, the Jerusalem Post reported that several Gulf nations had urged former U.S. President Donald Trump not to attack Iran’s power plants.
