Iran Won’t Be Lured by Talks: Tehran’s 5 Conditions to End the War

According to the political news service of Saed News, Fars, a senior political-security official told Press TV today that Iran will end the war when it decides to do so and only if the conditions it sets are met. The official emphasized that Tehran will not allow former U.S. President Donald Trump to dictate the timing of the war’s end.

The source added that the United States has approached Iran through various diplomatic channels, offering proposals that are seen as excessive and inconsistent with the reality of America’s failures on the battlefield.

Iran has evaluated these proposals, as it did during previous rounds of talks in spring and winter 2025, and considers them a ploy to escalate tensions. In both past instances, the U.S. had no genuine intention to negotiate and followed up with military attacks on Iran.

Responding to an American offer delivered through a friendly regional mediator, Iran has rejected it and affirmed its readiness to continue defending itself and inflict significant blows on the enemy.

Iran’s defense will continue until the following conditions are met:

  1. Hostile actions and targeted assassinations by the enemy cease.

  2. Concrete conditions are established to ensure the war will not recur.

  3. Compensation for war damages is guaranteed and clearly defined.

  4. The end of the war is implemented across all fronts and for all resistance groups involved in the conflict throughout the region.

  5. Iran’s sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz is recognized as a natural and legal right, with guarantees for enforcement of the opposing party’s commitments.

These conditions are separate from those presented during the second round of Geneva talks, held shortly before U.S. and Israeli attacks in late February.

Iran has informed all mediators acting in good faith that a ceasefire will only occur once its conditions are accepted, and no negotiations will take place beforehand.

“We will continue to defend ourselves until these conditions are met, and Iran will decide when the war ends—not when Trump chooses to end it,” the official concluded.
