According to SAEDNEWS, In an exciting turn of events, Taylor Swift's latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, has ended Kanye West's impressive streak of 11 consecutive number one albums. According to TMZ, Swift's release on Sunday put an end to West's record run.

Billboard reports that West's career has faced challenges, particularly following a wave of controversial anti-Semitic remarks since late 2022. His latest album sold approximately 107,000 equivalent album units in its first week, marking his 13th project to land in the top two spots on the charts. Meanwhile, Swift's Tortured Poets Department soared to the number one position this week with 142,000 equivalent album units sold in the U.S. for the week ending August 8, 2024. Since its launch in April, Swift's album has held the top spot for an impressive 14 weeks.

Prior to Swift's reign, Morgan Wallen's One Thing at a Time dominated the charts for 19 weeks from March 2023 to March 2024. Notably, the last female artist to achieve a similar feat was Adele with her iconic album 21, which topped the charts for 24 weeks between 2011 and 2012.

This week marks Taylor Swift's 83rd time topping the Billboard 200, placing her well ahead of the late Elvis Presley, who follows with 67 weeks at the top among solo artists. With this latest achievement, Swift continues to solidify her status as a formidable force in the music industry.
