According to SAEDNEWS, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian spoke with French President Emmanuel Macron on Sunday to discuss how to achieve a ceasefire in Lebanon amid the ongoing war involving Israel.
During their conversation, Pezeshkian emphasized Iran's desire for a peaceful and stable region free from conflict. He noted that Iran has always welcomed efforts to end wars, but pointed out that "these Zionists have shown that they do not pay attention to any humanitarian framework and international laws and intensify their crimes."
Pezeshkian also stated, "Iran will welcome and support any proposal to create peace and stability in the region." He urged France to join other European nations in pressuring Israel to stop its actions in Gaza and Lebanon, calling it "genocide and crimes."
In closing, he mentioned, "We assess the recent positions adopted by the French government in condemning the Zionist regime's actions in Lebanon and calling for a halt to the sending of weapons to this regime as positive."
