Iran and Bahrain Call for an End to Israeli Violence

SAEDNEWS: Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi of Iran and King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain have met and discussed relations and the latest developments in the region, most notably the escalation of Israel’s atrocities in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon.

Iran and Bahrain Call for an End to Israeli Violence

According to SAEDNEWS, On October 21, 2024, Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, met with Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in Manama. Their discussions focused on the troubled relations in the region, especially the increasing violence by Israel in Gaza and Lebanon.

Araghchi arrived in Bahrain as part of a two-stop trip that will also take him to Kuwait. During his visit, he emphasized the importance of regional cooperation to stop what he described as "Israeli barbarism," which has included a year-long campaign of violence against the people in Gaza and attacks on Lebanon.

The Iranian Foreign Minister urged for stronger ties between Iran and Bahrain, advocating for a unified effort to bring peace to the region.

In response, King Hamad expressed his concerns about the ongoing wars and violence, stressing the need for stability. He also mentioned the importance of dignity for all people in the region and expressed his hope of visiting Tehran in the future.

Since October 2023, the violence in Gaza has led to the deaths of more than 42,600 people, with nearly 2,500 casualties reported in Lebanon.

As the situation develops, both leaders continue to seek ways to foster peace and cooperation in a time of significant turmoil.
