SAEDNEWS: Hormozgan Coast Guard Commander Announces Discovery of Antique and Ancient Artifacts Worth 400 Billion Rials in Qeshm
According to Saed News’ social affairs service, citing Mehr, the Qeshm Coast Guard, relying on intelligence reports, became aware of suspicious movements involving antiques being trafficked in their jurisdiction and immediately launched an investigation.
Colonel Hossein Dehki explained that border officers were dispatched to the identified location. After a brief patrol, they spotted suspicious individuals, commanded them to stop, and, in a coordinated operation, seized a shipment of ancient and antique items from the smugglers.
The Hormozgan Coast Guard commander added that the operation led to the discovery of one chalice, four coins, 47 gold pieces, three bowls, one pitcher, one inkwell, a fish-themed plaque, and 11 antique figurines.
Colonel Dehki concluded by noting that, according to cultural heritage experts, the estimated value of the recovered antiques is around 400 billion rials.
