According to SAEDNEWS, Bam Khatoon FC has made history by advancing to the group stage of the AFC Women’s Champions League 2024/25 after securing a 2-0 victory over Hong Kong's Kitchee FC in the preliminary round on Saturday.
This win marks a significant milestone, as Bam Khatoon FC becomes the first Iranian team to reach the group stage of this prestigious tournament.
In the upcoming group stage, Bam Khatoon FC will compete against Melbourne City from Australia, College of Asian Scholars from Thailand, and Kaya–Iloilo from the Philippines.
The tournament is set to run from August 25, 2024, to May 24, 2025, and the Iranian team's historic achievement has generated excitement among fans and supporters.
