SAEDNEWS: The Iranian contingent walked out in the Parade of Nations at Paris Olympics opening ceremony Friday evening.
According to SAEDNEWS, The opening ceremony for the Paris Olympics began on Friday, an unprecedented and ambitious show with up to 7,000 competitors parading down the River Seine past the historic monuments of the French capital.
The 22-member delegation, led by flagbearers Neda Shahsavari and Mehdi Olfati, took part in the ceremony.
Despite rain, the opening ceremony was attended by around 300,000 spectators that was proceeded with a series of events that highlighted France's rich historical and cultural heritage.
A total of 40 athletes, including 11 women and 29 men, will represent Iran in 13 different sports in Paris.
