SAEDNEWS: Chinese President Xi Jinping will discuss Russia-China relations and international issues with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Kazan, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said.
According to SAEDNEWS, Chinese President Xi Jinping is set to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Kazan to engage in discussions regarding China-Russia relations as well as various international topics, as stated by Lin Jian, spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
Lin emphasized that the two leaders will have the opportunity for an in-depth exchange of views on bilateral relations and both regional and global issues during the upcoming summit.
Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov confirmed that President Putin will hold talks with President Xi on October 22.
The 16th BRICS summit, a significant event during Russia's chairmanship of the group, is scheduled to take place in Kazan from October 22 to October 24.
Originally established in 2006 by Brazil, Russia, India, and China, the BRICS group expanded with the addition of South Africa in 2011. On January 1, 2024, Egypt, Iran, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Ethiopia are set to join as full members.
This summit marks the first attendance of the new member countries, with representatives from over 30 nations expected to participate. Notable foreign leaders expected to be in Kazan include Chinese President Xi Jinping, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Lao President Thongloun Sisoulith.
