SAEDNEWS: Baliran Hot Spring is located in a village of the same name in the Dasht-e Sar district of Amol. Join us as we introduce you to this beautiful spring.
The Baliran Hot Spring is located in a village of the same name in the Dasht-e Sar district of Amol. This sparsely populated village has a long historical background, and it is said that human settlement in this area dates back more than 30,000 years.
Beyond its historical significance, Baliran village gained recognition in the 2000s (1380s in the Iranian calendar) as the second-ranked tourist destination due to its strong natural and recreational potential. Its charming traditional atmosphere is especially appealing to rural tourism enthusiasts, and it is surrounded by stunning forests with rich and diverse vegetation.
The forests of this village are among its most prominent attractions. What distinguishes them from other nearby forests in the Amol region is the presence of the Baliran hot springs nestled within the forest landscape. These springs are continuously supplied by annual rainfall and are situated facing lush mountainous slopes, creating a highly scenic environment.

The Baliran Hot Spring is located next to Baliran village, a forested area situated at an elevation of about 150 meters above sea level. The village is surrounded by rivers, forests, and mountains, making it a recognized ecotourism destination.
Baliran village is approximately 80 kilometers from Sari and 20 kilometers from Amol. From Tehran, the journey takes a little over three hours via the Haraz Road or under five hours via the Chalous Road.
For experienced hikers and forest trekkers, this region offers a remarkable opportunity to explore the ancient Hyrcanian forests and discover the beautiful Baliran spring, also known locally as the “Lalehzar Spring.” This unique turquoise-colored spring is located about 5 kilometers from the village and attracts many visitors.
The spring emerges from the ground at an elevation of about 240 meters above sea level and contains a relatively high level of sulfur. Due to the sulfur odor around the area, camping directly near the spring is not recommended. However, suitable camping spots can be found slightly before the spring within the forested areas.
Swimming is possible in this turquoise spring, which has a depth of about 80 centimeters and a water temperature of around 34°C in autumn. The sulfur content in the water is believed to help alleviate conditions such as joint pain, rheumatism, and certain skin diseases.
It is recommended to visit this destination in groups or with family and nature-tourism guides to fully enjoy the surrounding forests and green pastures.

The best time to visit is from early May to late November. During colder months, the water temperature decreases, making swimming less comfortable due to seasonal changes.
In late autumn, the visual appeal of the landscape also declines, and heavy rainfall can make the paths slippery. Additionally, seasonal wild fruits such as wild plums, medlars, hawthorns, and wild berries are not available during this period.
