SAEDNEWS: If you are in northern Tehran and are looking for a place with excellent weather for tourism, we recommend Darakeh. This is a natural tourist area with a pleasant climate, offering many attractions, and it is a popular destination among the residents of Tehran Province.
According to Saednews, One of the most pleasant and attractive areas in the northern part of the capital is Darakeh in Tehran, which is always filled with people coming for leisure, hiking, and recreation. Its location on the foothills ensures a steady flow of fresh, oxygen-rich air, making it a popular tourist destination with excellent weather conditions.
Darakeh is located in the northwestern part of Tehran. This mountainous recreational area extends to the Tochal mountain range in the north. To the south lies Ovin, while Shahid Beheshti University is situated to the east, and the western side connects to Saadat Abad and the hiking markets leading toward Tochal.

Historical records show that Darakeh has been known as a summer residential area for about 800 years. In the past, it was mainly used by wealthy families and court officials as a seasonal retreat. At the same time, local residents have always lived there permanently in some parts of the area.
The name “Darakeh” is believed to be a shortened form of “small valley,” which gradually evolved over time into its current form. Another theory suggests that the presence of multiple gates in the upper parts of the area led to this name. The exact origin is not definitively known, but both explanations are considered interesting and plausible.
Darakeh is located in the northwestern section of Tehran. Its boundaries are approximately:
South: Ovin
West: Saadat Abad

North: Tochal mountain range
The climate is generally pleasant year-round. Summers are warm, but never extremely hot, while spring and autumn offer the most comfortable conditions.
