SAEDNEWS: In the rugged mountain ranges of southern Iran, Hormozgan Province conceals a hidden gem known as “Beno Lamzan Gorge.” This remarkable natural formation features towering rock walls and a crystal-clear waterway flowing through its narrow passage, captivating every nature lover and adventure seeker who visits.
According to the tourism service of Saed News, Benu Lamzan Gorge is located near the town of Lamzan in Bandar Lengeh County. It is a symbol of the untouched and pristine beauty of southern nature, situated about 5 kilometers from Lamzan and 90 kilometers east of Bastak, nestled within the southern mountains of Hormozgan Province.
This water-filled gorge, with its clear natural pools formed along the route, creates a dreamlike landscape—where the silence of the mountains blends with the sound of flowing water and cool breezes. Natural erosion on the rocks has carved out formations that resemble works of art created by nature itself.
The presence of 12 natural pools with varying depths along the gorge makes this destination ideal for water sports enthusiasts and adventure seekers.
Crossing some of these pools—whose depth can exceed two meters during the wet season—requires swimming ability and physical preparedness. Walking through narrow rocky corridors offers visitors a thrilling and unique experience.

The gorge’s remote location, far from busy routes and urban crowds, has preserved its pristine character. This makes it a paradise for nature lovers and photographers alike.
Sunlight passing through gaps in the cliffs reflects golden patterns on the water’s surface, painting a poetic scene of light, color, and silence.
To reach Benu Lamzan Gorge, travelers must first head from Bandar Lengeh toward the Bandar Lengeh–Bastak asphalt road. After approximately 65 kilometers, a side road leads toward the town of Lamzan.
From Lamzan to the entrance of the gorge, there is about a 5-kilometer dirt and mountainous path. At the beginning, the landscape is dry and rocky, but as one moves forward, vegetation becomes richer. The shade of trees and moisture from the water pools gradually reveal a different face of southern Iran.
Beyond its tourism appeal, Benu Lamzan Gorge holds significant environmental importance. Its diverse plant and animal species—especially small birds nesting within rock crevices—add to the area’s natural charm.
Visitors should be physically prepared and observe safety precautions. Wearing appropriate water and hiking shoes, carrying waterproof bags for essentials, and bringing sufficient drinking water and food are strongly recommended.
Due to the lack of facilities in the area, it is highly advised to visit with local guides to ensure safe navigation and to avoid getting lost.

The best time to visit Benu Lamzan Gorge is during autumn, winter, and spring, when the weather is mild and water levels are suitable for trekking. In summer, extreme heat and evaporation make visits more difficult, though the gorge remains beautiful in every season.
After seasonal rainfall, extra caution is necessary due to the possibility of sudden water level rises and flash floods.
With its unique natural features, Benu Lamzan Gorge has strong potential to become a major adventure tourism destination in southern Iran. Developing infrastructure such as safe access paths, informational signage, and local guide training could significantly support regional economic growth and attract both domestic and international tourists.
This gorge is a symbol of the hidden beauty of southern Iran—a place where mountains, water, and light intertwine to offer visitors an unforgettable experience of peace and harmony with nature.
Hormozgan Province is home to more than 300 historical and tourist sites for travelers, and Bandar Lengeh, with a population of around 159,000, is located in the western part of the province.
