SAEDNEWS: On the night of November 26, 2008, Gautam Adani, then the tenth-richest man in India, was dining at a restaurant in Mumbai’s luxurious Taj Mahal Hotel when armed attackers entered, firing at everyone and throwing grenades.
According to Saed News, citing Fararu, ten heavily armed militants, all Pakistani nationals, entered the country by sea that evening. They split into several groups, hijacked vehicles, and attacked multiple targets, including two luxury hotels. The 60-hour siege left 166 dead and strained relations between India and Pakistan.

Mr. Adani later told India Today that hotel staff had quickly confined dining guests to the basement for two hours while the violent attack raged outside. They were then moved to an upper-floor hall.
Around 100 guests were packed inside the hall—“some hid under couches while others sought escape routes”—and prayed for survival.

Mr. Adani recounted that while his driver and bodyguard waited anxiously outside in his car, he sat on a couch, reassuring trapped guests to “have faith in God” and spoke by phone to his worried family, 500 kilometers away in his hometown of Ahmedabad.

After commandos stormed the hotel the next morning, Mr. Adani and the other hostages who had spent the night in the hall were escorted out through a back entrance. After returning to Ahmedabad on his private jet, he told reporters that day, “I could see death five meters away.”
Adani is considered close to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos
