What Did Grocery Shops Look Like in the Qajar Era?

According to Saed News, citing Eghtesad Online, this report presents an image of a grocer from Gilan dating back to the era of Naser al-Din Shah Qajar.

Naser al-Din Shah (July 16, 1831 – May 1, 1896), formerly known as Naser al-Din Mirza before his coronation, was the fourth king of the Qajar dynasty of Iran. He was also known by titles such as “Qibla of the World” and “Sultan of the Auspicious Conjunction,” and after his assassination by Mirza Reza Kermani, he was referred to as the “Martyr King.” With nearly 50 years of rule, he held the longest reign in Iranian history after Shapur II of the Sasanian Empire and Tahmasp I of the Safavid dynasty.
