According to Saednews, Schietekat presented the artwork to Abolfazl Pasandideh at the Iranian Embassy in Mexico City on Tuesday. Created using paper, cardboard, and recycled materials, the piece expresses sorrow over the children’s deaths and solidarity with their grieving families.

The artwork portrays the children as butterflies flying toward a sun above Iran. At the bottom, the school and the words “Minab 168” appear alongside books and school supplies, symbolizing the childhood dreams cut short by the attack.

Speaking emotionally about the victims, the Mexican artist said that while war could destroy human lives and material possessions, it could never erase children’s dreams and stories. She expressed hope that her message would reach the grieving mothers of Minab.

Pasandideh thanked the artist, emphasizing the profound value of a work created from the heart, whose message needed no translation.

He described the tragedy in Minab as a shared sorrow for all humanity and called on the international community to demand accountability and ensure that the killing of innocent people does not become normalized.

Shajareh Tayyebeh Elementary School was struck in the early hours of February 28, when the war launched by the United States and Israel against Iran began. The attack killed 168 people, including 157 children.
