SAEDNEWS: The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy announced that two oil tankers caught fire after hitting mines in and east of the Strait of Hormuz while attempting to pass through unauthorized routes.
According to Saednews, In a statement issued on Saturday night, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy claimed that two oil tankers had repeatedly violated maritime regulations and disabled their navigation and positioning systems in an attempt to transit prohibited routes through the strategically important Strait of Hormuz.
According to the statement, both vessels struck naval mines and exploded, subsequently becoming engulfed in intense flames.
The IRGC Navy warned other vessels against committing similar violations, claiming that any ship cooperating with the US military, which it described as an “aggressor and plundering army,” disregarding Iranian regulations in the Strait of Hormuz, or entering restricted maritime zones would inevitably encounter mines.
The statement also called on vessels to disregard what it described as unrealistic claims made by the commander of US Central Command (CENTCOM).
