SAEDNEWS: Iranian Envoy Highlights Latin America’s Potential to Strengthen Ties with Tehran
According to Saednews, The Iranian ambassador to Mexico has highlighted the significant potential of Latin American countries to strengthen relations with Iran, saying cultural affinities between the people of the region and Iranians offer promising opportunities for broader cooperation.
Speaking via video link at a specialized seminar titled “Prospects for Cultural-Media Cooperation between Iran and Latin America,” organized by the Khayyam International Cultural-Media Foundation at Tehran Municipality, the ambassador emphasized Latin America’s strategic importance in Iran’s foreign policy.
He noted that the region’s potential, particularly in culture, media, and people-to-people exchanges, has not received sufficient attention, stressing the need for more comprehensive planning to make effective use of these opportunities.
Referring to Latin America’s historical experience with U.S. policies, the ambassador said some countries in the region had suffered from the consequences of Washington’s actions.
He added that these shared experiences could serve as a basis for mutual understanding and stronger relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Highlighting Mexico’s population of approximately 130 million and its considerable economic potential, the ambassador stressed the importance of identifying new markets for Iranian products. He cited saffron and other Iranian goods as potential exports that could help expand trade between Iran and Mexico.
