SAEDNEWS: US National Debt Hits Record $40.5 Trillion, Treasury Data Shows
According to Saednews, The US national debt has climbed to a record $40.5 trillion, according to US Treasury Department data analyzed by TASS.
Official figures show that the US government’s debt reached $40.52 trillion as of October 26, marking an all-time high. The total surpassed $38 trillion in October last year and crossed the $40 trillion threshold in August this year. Over the past decade, the national debt has increased by approximately $20 trillion.
According to estimates from the Peterson Institute for International Economics, US debt could rise to $50 trillion within the next six years unless reforms are introduced to government spending or taxation.
