SAEDNEWS: Qatari PM and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani to Visit China for Two Days
According to Saednews, Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani will visit China from September 7 to 8, according to a brief statement issued by the Chinese Foreign Ministry on Sunday, Anadolu Agency reported.
Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesperson Majed Al-Ansari also confirmed the visit, saying the premier is scheduled to meet with senior Chinese officials.
The discussions will focus on strengthening strategic relations between Qatar and China across various sectors, particularly economic and investment cooperation, Al-Ansari told the Qatar News Agency (QNA).
The meetings are also expected to cover major regional developments and diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions while promoting peace, security and stability in the region.
Both sides will emphasize the importance of maintaining the security and freedom of international navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, Al-Ansari added.
The visit comes as the United States intensifies its naval blockade against Iran, prompting a strong response from Tehran.
Qatar, alongside Pakistan, has been actively engaged in mediation efforts between Washington and Tehran, seeking to encourage both sides to return to negotiations and ease growing tensions.
