Trump's New Claim About the Strait of Hormuz: The Nightmare of Retaliation Still Haunts the U.S. President

According to Saednews political report, U.S. President Donald Trump claimed in his latest remarks that the United States would continue to safeguard the Strait of Hormuz and could eventually assume control of the strategically important waterway.

Trump stated, “We will protect the Strait, and we will probably take control of it. We will become its guardian, and when we do, we will charge for providing that protection.”

He further asserted that the United States has been responsible for securing the Strait of Hormuz for the past 50 years without receiving compensation, adding that this would change in the future.

In another part of his remarks, Trump commented on the risks associated with the presidency, saying, “About 5.2% of U.S. presidents have been killed, and 8.5% have been shot. Being president is a dangerous job.”

Trump also renewed his criticism of previous U.S. administrations' Iran policy. He claimed that Iran became stronger during the presidencies of Barack Obama and Joe Biden, arguing that the Obama administration's approach empowered Tehran and suggesting that Biden had little influence over policy.

He further alleged that there had been an agreement with Iran, but that Tehran violated it and had repeatedly failed to honor its commitments.

Trump did not provide any evidence or additional details to support his claims regarding potential U.S. control of the Strait of Hormuz or the alleged agreement with Iran.
