SAEDNEWS: The four-party talks involving Iran and the US, with mediation by Qatar and Pakistan, in Switzerland are still in suspension state
According to Saednews, Speaking to Tasnim about the latest developments in Iran–U.S. talks, an informed source said:
“The Iran–U.S. talks in a quadrilateral format began at around 3 p.m. and were suspended for a 30-minute break for consultations between the delegations after about an hour and a half of discussions.”
The source noted that due to what it described as Donald Trump’s threatening and insulting remarks, the Iranian delegation refused to return to the four-party negotiations.
Meanwhile, efforts by Qatar and Pakistan continued, and messages were exchanged through mediators.
The source added that mediation efforts are still ongoing but have not yet reached a final outcome.
During the meeting, the Iranian delegation explicitly protested the violation of commitments, especially Paragraph 1 of the recently signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The Iranian delegation also called for accelerating the fulfillment of U.S. commitments regarding the release of Iran’s frozen assets and the issuance of certificates for Iranian oil exports.
Regarding the nuclear issue, the Iranian delegation emphasized that the start of nuclear negotiations is conditional on the implementation of U.S. commitments under Paragraphs 1, 4, 10, and 11.
