Saed News: CNN reported that Donald Trump, facing growing dissatisfaction with the progress of negotiations with Iran, is discussing the resumption of military operations within his administration, while some officials still emphasize continuing diplomacy.
According to SAEDNEWS, U.S. President Donald Trump is increasingly frustrated with how negotiations with Iran to end the war are being handled, and some officials say he is seriously considering resuming major military operations.
Sources told CNN that different camps exist within the Trump administration, recommending alternative paths for how to proceed. Some, including Pentagon officials, have supported a more aggressive approach to pressure Iran into returning to the negotiating table—including targeted strikes to further weaken Tehran’s position. However, sources said others are still trying to give diplomacy a fair chance.
Many of Trump’s allies want Pakistani mediators to communicate more directly with the Iranians. Some Trump officials have long questioned whether Pakistan is aggressively conveying Trump’s dissatisfaction with the negotiation process, as he has publicly done. Two sources said some officials also believe Pakistan often presents a more positive version of Iran’s stance to the U.S. than reality reflects.
A regional official said on Monday that regional countries and Pakistan have strongly tried to convey to Iran that Trump is frustrated and that this is their last opportunity for meaningful diplomatic engagement, but Iran does not seem to be listening or taking anyone seriously.
Also, Walla News reported, citing sources, that Washington was on the verge of deciding to resume strikes on Iran a week ago. The source also added that people close to Trump convinced him at the last moment to halt the decision to restart the war.
