SAEDNEWS: If you wear rings often, it’s worth knowing what wearing a ring on each finger means, as each finger can convey a different message.
According to Saednews, As wearing rings on the index finger becomes more common, questions frequently arise about its religious significance. What does wearing a ring on the index finger mean? What is the meaning of wearing a ring on the middle finger? Why is wearing a ring on the index finger considered inappropriate in Islam? This article explores these questions based on Islamic traditions and reported hadiths.
In a previous article, Namnak explained the meanings associated with wearing rings on different fingers. In some cultures, particularly ancient Roman culture, wearing a ring on the index finger was considered a sign of high self-confidence, leadership, ambition, and other similar qualities. However, the Islamic perspective differs.

Islamic teachings address this subject differently. The following narrations describe the religious guidance regarding wearing rings on these fingers.
Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:
“I forbid my community from wearing rings on the middle and index fingers.”
He also said:
“O Ali! Do not wear a ring on the middle or index finger, and do not leave the little finger without a ring.”

The hadiths above provide a basis for addressing this question from an Islamic perspective.
It has also been suggested that wearing rings on the thumb or middle finger may not be problematic if the adjacent fingers, including the little finger, also have rings. However, for religious guidance specific to your circumstances, it is best to consult your own marjaʿ (religious authority).

Islamic narrations mention a ring associated with Prophet Solomon, which is described as a symbol of his power.

It is further reported that Imam Mahdi (may Allah hasten his reappearance) will wear this ring when he appears.
